SINUS ELEVATION SURGERY: This is when we gently lift the thin sinus membrane to place bone graft material below to regain the lost bone height, so that implants can be placed.
Depending on each patient’s case, implants may be placed at the same time as the elevation surgery if adequate bone (4-6mm below the sinus) is available. If there is less than 4mm of bone, often times the additional bone grafting we place will need to heal 4-6 months prior to implants placement.
RIDGE AUGMENTATION SURGERY: When much bone volume (height and width) is lost, the area will require bone grafting before the implants can be placed. This will be a 6 month healing process.
